From October 3 to 5, 2023, the University of the Philippines Mindanao took a major step toward improving its Quality Management System (QMS) by conducting a seminar on the Requirements of ISO 9001:2015. The event, held at the Gaisano Hall, gathered executives, managers, and supervisors for an in-depth exploration of the international standard's nuances.
The workshop introduced participants to the evolution and significance of ISO 9001:2015, emphasizing its advantages for organizational growth. Key topics included the principle of risk-based thinking and the application of the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) Cycle, equipping attendees with practical tools to align processes with the standard’s requirements.
This seminar marks the first step in UP Mindanao's journey toward ISO certification, laying the foundation for future workshops and consultations.

The University of the Philippines Mindanao, through its Quality Assurance Office (QAO), successfully conducted an Orientation and Onboarding Session on the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) today, May 16, 2025, via Zoom. The session was facilitated by UP Mindanao’s QMS Consultant, Mr. Perfecto Cagaanan Jr., and was attended by newly appointed unit heads, newly designated personnel, and other members of the teaching and administrative staff.
