UP Mindanao's BS Computer Science and BS Biology programs have successfully PASSED the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Program Assessment. This becomes the first two degree programs in UP Mindanao to achieve this milestone and setting a new standard of academic excellence. Conducted from June 11-13, 2024, this assessment underscores UP Mindanao’s commitment to meeting high standards in educational quality and competitive standing within the ASEAN region.

The two degree programs, represented by Assoc. Prof. Cinmayii G. Manliguez, DMPCS Chair, and Assoc. Prof. Junaldo A. Mantiquilla, DBSES Chair, were assessed by AUN-QA-eligible assessors from Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia, led by Chief Assessor and Special Advisor to the AUN Executive Director, Prof. Dr. Wan Ahmad Kamil Mahmood of Universiti Sains Malaysia.

The AUN-QA Program Assessment is a rigorous evaluation that ensures academic programs align with ASEAN standards in areas such as curriculum relevance, teaching quality, and student support services. By passing this assessment, UP Mindanao demonstrates its dedication to fostering an educational environment that meets international standards.

For 2026, UP Mindanao is preparing for the next round of assessments for its BS Applied Mathematics (BSAM) and Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Arts (BACMA) programs.

The BS Computer Science and BS Biology programs express their sincere gratitude to the faculty, staff, students, alumni, employers, and other stakeholders whose contributions made this assessment both possible and successful.
