Assoc. Prof. Ritchie Mae T. Gamot from UP Mindanao served as an external quality reviewer for the External Quality Assurance (EQA) review of the BS Biology program at UP Manila from November 25-29, 2024.

Joined by Prof. Evangeline Amor from the Institute of Chemistry of UP Diliman, Dr. Gamot participated in the five-day sessions conducted via Zoom to assess the degree program's overall quality and effectiveness through a series of in-depth interviews with faculty, students, alumni, and employers. These discussions covered various aspects of the program, including curriculum relevance, faculty qualifications, student support services, infrastructure and graduate outcomes.

The review process also provided observation opportunities for Prof. Giovanna Fae Oguis from the BS Applied Mathematics program of the DMPCS and Prof. Roxanne Aguinaldo from the School of Management. Both observed the interview portions to gain insights and strengthen quality assurance practices in preparation for the upcoming EQA of their respective programs. Their participation facilitated knowledge sharing and highlighted best practices that can be applied to their own program initiatives.

This collaborative effort underscores UP Mindanao's dedication to academic excellence and continuous improvement across disciplines within the UP System. It also shows the importance of collective learning and peer evaluation to maintain high standards of education across the university.
